It has been a very busy month! You may have figured that out because I haven't posted much this month. I am finishing up the September classes tonight, so am ready to share the projects and others I created during the process.
Today's card features Embossing Paste. Although this is not a new product it is new to Stampin' Up!'s catalog.
While waiting for all my products to arrive, I watched videos and looked at lots of samples on Pinterest. There are so many ways to use embossing paste to create both simple and stunning backgrounds. Start with Stampin' Up!'s video...
On my card, before applying the embossing paste, I heat embossed the "you make me smile" greeting (from Colorful Seasons) in copper. Then, lay the brick mask (stencil) over the card making sure to protect your table with a piece of paper. Now you can see the greeting through the mask. Apply the paste in areas around the greeting. Lift and set the card stock aside to dry...dries quickly if you don't put it on too thick. You will want a container of warm soapy water handy to soak the mask and palette knife for easier cleaning.
The Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie leaves were cut with the Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies and then stamped with the detail leaf stamp from the Colorful Seasons stamp set in Cajun Craze. You can purchase stamps and dies as a bundle and save 10%, too. Doesn't the Copper Foil leaf add a bit of glam to the card? I know it's not too visible in the picture, but the Copper Metallic Thread is attached behind the leaf cluster.
For adhesive, you will find that the Multipurpose Liquid Glue works great to attach these pieces over the embossing paste texture. And use Tear & Tape to attach the 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Crumb Cake card stock to the front of the card base. In the 2017- 2018 Annual Catalog on page 203, you will find a chart of our adhesives and their various applications.
